Statement of Intent
My plan for a BBC 3 documentary is how someone had become
successful and famous by working hard but then had a downfall with scandals and
problems. The documentary will show what they overcame to become successful and
what sacrifices they made. What they did with their fame and success, but then
what happened when information came out about them in a negative way. How
people found out that this popular celebrity turned out to be a criminal that
used people inhumanely. This person was a social media influencer who had a
problematic childhood, they were innovative and posted types of funny short
videos, that were different to what people were posting on social media. Later
with this fame they use it to make their own made product, this was a well-liked
product that had sold out every release. However, people that worked for them
claimed that they were a very verbally abusive employer and their product was
made by young children in underdeveloped countries in poor working conditions.
This documentary will follow with the ASA (Advertising
Standards Authority). The ASA is the UK’s independent advertising regulator. It
ensures that any advertisements in the UK media are legal, decent, honest and
truthful. This means that the posters that will be used for advertisement for
the documentary will cohere to these rules as it will not contain any violence
and anti-social behaviour content in the posters. This is important that these
posters follow the ASA rules as these posters will be used in public places
that will be seen not just by the intended target audience but also different
members of the public like young children and if are not following the ASA then
they could potentially get scared by the poster. This directly links to media
representation as I want my poster to be portrayed in a positive way for the
intended target audience and make the documentary be seen positively as this
means that people will want to watch the documentary
The target audience for this documentary is people aged
16-25. In order to reach this target audience, the layout of the posters must
be appealing to them, this is through the colour theme, font and taglines. The
intended target audience are fans of groundbreaking documentaries this means
that the posters for the documentary must stand out among other documentaries,
because this audience is younger and born in the technology era then the
documentary should focus on something that is based of recent technology/social
media.
